UNDP Procurement: Opportunities for Russian IT Companies
In 2024, the UN system’s total procurement volume reached $25.7 billion, with a significant portion dedicated to digital solutions, including software development, cybersecurity, analytical platforms, IT infrastructure, technical support, and consulting. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), one of the UN’s largest agencies, operates in 170 countries, procuring goods and services to drive global development.
The webinar will help participants gain a clear and practical understanding of how UNDP procurement is organized. We will look at the process from three key sides — those who form the need, those who conduct the procurement, and those who participate in the tender.
Anastasia Maximova, a. i. Russia-UNDP Trust Fund Manager, will outline the most sought-after digital solutions, UNDP’s mandate in the tech sector, and standard requirements for Terms of Reference.
Tatsiana Lazouskaya, Procurement Specialist at UNDP Belarus, will detail the tender submission procedure, specific requirements for digital vendors, and common pitfalls that prevent companies from being selected.
Timur Aymaletdinov, PhD in Sociology, Deputy CEO of the NAFI Analytical Center, will share his firsthand experience participating in two UNDP tenders, including a successful project from 2024.
We will also discuss common stereotypes about UN procurement - their presumed “closed nature” and complexity, and the impossibility of receiving funds in current international conditions.
